I source all my glass directly from Canadian Stained Glass Warehouse. The glass brands I use vary depending on the project (for exemple: English Muffle, Kokomo, Spectrum, Uroboros, Youghiogheny, etc.).
I use the Louis C. Tiffany method to create my works. After precisely cutting and grinding the glass, I apply copper foil and I solder each piece of glass in order to create an unique piece.
For larger stained glass piece, I make sure to add a zinc strip or a lead strip to reinforce the glass.
The solder also add strength to the stained glass.
For smaller pieces, you can hang them by applying plastic suction cups with hooks to a window.
For larger pieces, I recommend installing hooks on your wooden window trim and hanging them directly or using a wire hanger. Please do not damage your PVC frame when installing your stained glass.
I recommend cleaning your stained glass with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive products. Once a year, you can apply a thin layer of stained glass wax to restore its shine. Also, avoid scraping the surface of the stained glass with metal objects in order to avoid scratching your glass.
A stained glass piece is a unique work of art and can add a special touch to your living space.
A stained glass piece can be very useful for adding privacy to a room while still allowing natural light to enter. For example, a stained glass piece can be installed in a bathroom window for added privacy
